On September 27th, the BMW Golf Cup International 2007 China Final concluded at Hangzhou Fuchun Resort Golf Club. After a fierce competition, the top three out of 89 players will represent China to take part in the BMW Golf Cup International 2007 World Final, held in Sydney during December of this year.
In the BMW Golf Cup International 2007 China Final, the individual stroke play of 18 holes in one round was introduced. In accordance with Stableford scoring mode, the point for the net for each hole is calculated on the basis of each player’s handicap index. The player with the highest aggregated points will be the winner. Ma Kefei, coming from Hainan, won the championship of Group A (Men's) with 45 points and Liu Yong, coming from Fujian, won the championship of Group B (Men's ) with 44 points. The women’s champion, Qin Xinmu, coming from Guangxi, won with 53 points.
Up to this year, the BMW Golf Cup International has been successively held by BMW in China for 10 years. Since this year, stricter measures have been taken in the event, as to improve the handicap system and contest rules. From March to July, 41 qualifying events have attracted over 4,500 golf fans and BMW owners with the biggest scale ever. In addition, the second grand prize of "Hole in One" in the last ten years was created in Hainan in May.
