Retief Goosen.

Retief Goosen was introduced to golf at the age of 11 by his father, Theo, a ten handicapper. His amateur career was briefly interrupted when he was struck by lightning at the age of 16 and he suffered health problems for sometime after. Five years later, though, he turned professional, following a win in the 1990 South African Amateur Championship.

Since 1995, Goosen has been one of the most consistent players in the world: he has won internationally every year since 1995, and also won a PGA Tour event every year from 2001 to 2005.
In 2002 he was made an Honorary Member of The European Tour – by becoming the first non-European to retain the crown.

In 2004 he earned the nickname "The Iceman" on the US PGA Tour where he has won 6 times and is also affectionately called "The Goose" by his fans.Last year, Goosen claimed his 14th European Tour victory in the Qatar Masters with a miraculous birdie, 30-foot eagle finish to claim a one-stroke victory at the expense of Australian Nick O'Hern.

Goosen is married with a son and daughter, and has homes in Ascot, Berkshire, England and Orlando, Florida, U.S. as well as retaining residence in Polokwane, South Africa.
